The Peach State Quartet was formed in 1972 by Bert Smith, a bass singer who sang for a short short time with Wally Fowler and the Oak Ridge Quartet. He moved to the Atlanta area and worked until retirement with a local police department. |
| The owner and manager, Tom Cabaniss, played piano for the original quartet in the early 1970′s and again in the early 1980′s. The Peach State Quartet disbanded in 1990, but Tom reorganized the quartet in 1995 with new singers. |

As in most ‘Weekend Warriors’, there have been personnel changes over the years. However, with each replacement, the quartet has reached higher levels of harmony along with the important level of committments. |
| Now, the quartet consists of Doug Stroup, John Walker, Joe Harden, and Matt Upton. Eager to serve the Lord and sing for His glory these guys are continuing the tradition of the Peach State Quartet! |
